Glenn Parrett is serving his first term in the
elective office of Sheriff following a 33 year career in law
enforcement. He is a graduate of the Sioux City Police Academy and a 33
year veteran of the Woodbury County Sheriff’s Office. During his career
Sheriff Parrett has worked assignments in all divisions of the sheriff’s
office and has served in several supervisory capacities.
Sheriff Parrett administers a combined sworn and
civilian staff of approximately 120, oversees a volunteer force of over
20 and manages a financial budget of more than $7,000,000.00. During
his term, Sheriff Parrett will focus on finding a solution to the jail
overcrowding situation in Woodbury County, continue to upgrade equipment
in connection with the ever changing technology available, and work with
other agencies and administrators to more efficiently serve the citizens
of Woodbury County.
Sheriff Parrett has served on the Board of
Directors of the Municipal Credit Union since 1987, is a member of
Tyrian Lodge #508, and a member of the Abu Bekr Shrine and the Scottish
Rite in Sioux City, Iowa.
