Pat Gill has spent his entire life in Sioux City and Woodbury County. He
was elected Woodbury County’s Auditor and Recorder in November of 1996
and was recently re-elected to his second term.
He previously served two terms in the Iowa House of Representatives from
1991 through 1994. Mr. Gill comes from the private sector with
experience in construction project management and financial services. He
is married to Teresa Gill and has two children, Shannon and Brendan.
During his first term in office, Mr. Gill has concentrated on instilling
a customer service oriented attitude developed during his years in the
private sector. He is a strong proponent of open government and is
concentrating on making county government user friendly. Mr. Gill
understands that county government needs to keep pace with the demands
of its users as technology changes, but the costs for those services
can’t outpace the taxpayer’s ability to pay for those services.
Mr. Gill is currently Secretary-Treasurer of the Iowa State Association
of County Auditors and Vice-President of The District III Iowa State
Association of Counties.
